Ramsons

 

Spring has most definitely “sprung” when you can find wild garlic. We absolutely love ramsons and look forward to its arrival every year. Apart from being one of the most delicious wild edibles you can find, it’s also pretty good for you too. Use it just like garlic, scallions or spinach, as a pot herb, in salads, soups and stir fries.

- High in vitamins A, C and the minerals manganese, copper, iron, magnesium with traces of selenium.

- Contains similar anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiseptic and antibacterial compounds to garlic.

- The leaves contain Adenosine, which plays a vital role in regulating high blood pressure and tachycardia.

-Effective against atherosclerosis and hypertension as well as giving support to the body to deal with their symptoms.

- It’s beneficial in the treatment of asthma, bronchitis and emphysema.

- Used to treat stomach disorders.

- Ingested or used as an enema to treat threadworms.
